Claudio Cavazzuti is Professor of Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Bologna. His main research interests are the Bronze Age societies in Northern Italy and in Central-Eastern Europe.
He is director of the excavations at the Bronze Age sites of Monte della Croce (Bologna) and Solarolo (Ravenna), with the objective of reconstructing the settlement pattern, economy and environment of the 2nd millennium BCE in the plain and mountain regions of Northern Italy. His research also involves bioarchaeological investigation of prehistoric cemeteries from the Neolithic to the Iron Age, with special focus on the analysis of mobility through isotope analysis.
